Natives approach towards life, others and his characteristics in general would be decided based on what planets are placed in the ascendant. For example if sun is placed in the horoscope, a person would display ideal behavior; he/she would love high class, such a person would have high inner strength. Further it would depend on what sign sun is placed in. For example, if sun is placed in Aries in the ascendant, it would reflect different behavior than it would have shown in Taurus.

Fiery planets would not display fast and burning effects in earth signs i.e. Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.

Best results would be expected with the planet kind being placed in the sign with same quality. Mars and Sun are generally happy in Aries, Leo and Sagittarius, those being fiery signs.

Sometimes there are more than one planets placed in the ascendant. At that time the combined effect should be counted. For example if there are mars and mercury in the ascendant, the person would have both mercury and mars behavior. While mars will give him energy, aggression, anger, discipline and liveliness, mercury will keep him attached to learning, good brain, good communication skills etc.

All the above mentioned is incomplete without the judgment of ascendant lord, its position, aspect of other planets over the ascendant, moon ascendant, sun ascendant and the other combinations to be taken into consideration. I saw a horoscope where ascendant lord mercury was weak in the eighth while fifth house and Jupiter were both strong. The person would suffer from memory losses frequently.

Planets in the ascendant should always be considered before making any statement regarding a native’s horoscope.
